Serving as a Liaison for Students

  • navigating campus procedures
  • serving as an advocate for students, as needed

Collaborating with Other Offices

Issues We Assist With

Need for Time Away from College

Request for Extended Absence

Observation of Religious Holidays

As outlined in the academic policies and procedures manual, students missing classes, exams, 因宗教节日等原因造成的课业，可以补交未完成的课业，不予扣分. 学生必须提前通知导师其庆祝宗教节日的计划, 这样老师和学生就有足够的时间来计划任何必要的替代安排.

医疗大赦政策旨在鼓励学生在危险的醉酒或受损时立即为自己或他人寻求救生援助, without fear of sanctions. A bystander acting in good faith, or a reporting individual acting in good faith, 将不受esball官方网的行为准则的行动，违反酒精和/或药物使用政策发生在或接近违反esball官方网发生的时间.

Seeking Assistance for Themselves

  • 获得医疗大赦的学生将被要求与学生主任会面，并同意一项行动计划(教育), counseling, etc.). 不遵守该计划将导致大赦被撤销
  • 医疗大赦只豁免与酗酒和吸毒有关的学生制裁. 它不能保护学生在醉酒或受损时违反学生行为准则而面临制裁, including (but not limited to) destruction of property, physical assault, or sexual assault
  • 医疗大赦只适用于违反罗德岛大学学生行为准则的人. 它不能保护学生不因持有或使用酒精和/或毒品而违反州或联邦法律而受到起诉

Seeking Assistance for Others

  • 注意到其他RIC学生或客人有危险的醉酒或受损，鼓励学生立即干预，以确保他们的健康和安全. This includes confiscating keys and calling for a cab, or contacting Campus Police, 防止某人在酒精或毒品的影响下开车, 同时呼吁对怀疑酒精中毒的人进行医疗救助, overdose, or other medical emergencies related to alcohol or drug use
  • 医疗特赦将只授予积极干预这种情况的学生. Bystanders who are present, but do not take active steps to seek assistance, will not be eligible for amnesty
  • 采取积极措施进行干预意味着(a)立即联系合适的住宿生活 & Housing representatives or RIC Campus Police to request medical or other assistance; (b) remaining with the intoxicated or impaired individual until help arrives; and (c) remaining after help arrives to assist emergency responders and/or RIC Campus Police in assessing the situation and reporting it

Student Organizations
